Leone
Hall Price Memorial Park Master Plan
Public
input meetings for the Leone Hall Price Memorial Park were held
on October 3rd and November 14th at the West Cobb Regional Library.
A proposed Master Plan will be presented to the Cobb County
Board of Commissioners at their regular meeting scheduled for
Tuesday, January 9, 9:00 a.m. on the 2 nd Floor, Building A,
100 Cherokee Street, Marietta, Georgia. View the proposed

Congratulations
to our 2006 Volunteers of the Year!!!
The
Cobb County Parks, Recreation, & Cultural Affairs Department
hosted its 26th Annual Volunteer Recognition Banquet on November
16th at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel. Over 400 volunteers were
in attendance representing 68 volunteer organizations that provide
programs in department facilities. Several volunteers were honored
for their outstanding commitment to the department and programs:

County Volunteer of the Year for Recreation Programs

These
individuals symbolize the efforts of over 18,000 volunteers
within our department helping to provide top quality leisure
activities to our residents. Congratulations to the
award winners and thank you to all of our volunteers for the
service you provide to our county!!!
New
Soccer Complex Under Construction
The
new West Sandtown Soccer Complex is now under construction
on Barrett Parkway just south of Macland Road. Included
in the park are five lighted soccer fields, concession/restroom
building, walking trail, playground, parking, and maintenance
compound. The complex is scheduled to be open for play
for the Fall 2007 season.
