About
Cobb County Elementary School Tennis League Program
Cobb
County Elementary School League Program is designed
to help children in grades 2 thru 5 learn how to play
team tennis. This league introduces players to singles
and doubles play format in a fun and encouraging environment.
The children learn this life-long sport by playing games
on tennis courts sized appropriately for them and using
tennis balls specially designed for their style of play.
In the past four seasons, many players have moved on
to Jr. League play (Jr. USTA and ALTA) while even others
have advanced to academy level play. Seeing this league
progress in this manner is what we hoped for.
Program
Success
Thanks
to all involved for making the Cobb County Elementary
School Tennis League program a growing success... The
Program's success is dependent upon the support of Parent
Advocates, Elementary School Players and Cobb County
Tennis Center Coordinators. It takes all of us working
together for this to be successful, however the most
important group of these mentioned to ensure that players
from your school learn of this program and register
for it are the Parent Advocates.
Parent
Advocates
As
this program is offered in Cobb County for the Elementary
School aged participant, the tennis center cannot get
the word out in your school as you can. This is why
Parent Advocates are vital to the participation of your
child's school in this league.
Parent
Advocate Role
Communicates information about this program in your
school using approved communication methods of your
school. Examples:
Working with PTA in getting the word out
Providing Information at Sneak-a-Peek or Meet and Greet
Sending flyers home in school bags/folders
Giving Handouts
Getting information into the school newsletter or newspaper
Having information posted to the school blog
Inform, call, email parents of 2 nd – 5 th graders about
this fun program
Etc.
