Fair Oaks Tennis Center was Cobb County's first public tennis center opening in 1974. Fair Oaks has 12 lighted hard courts and a pro-shop building. Located in Central Cobb, Fair Oaks is convenient to everyone in Cobb and is a popular location for tournaments, leagues and round robin socials. The configuration of the 12 courts surrounding the pro-shop make Fair Oaks the ideal location for watching tennis - whether it is your league match or tournament competition.

Staff Notes

Larry Snyder has retired from his position as facility manager of Fair Oaks Tennis Center. Larry has managed Fair Oaks since 2001 and did a great job during his time here. Good luck Larry with your future endeavors!!!!!

Charles McCoy has taken over as the new manager of Fair Oaks Tennis Center. Charlie was previously the facility manager at Sweetwater Tennis Center. He has been involved in tennis for many years and has been involved with the Georgia Professional Tennis Association, is a PTR certified pro, has been an ALTA coordinator, and is a certified USTA tournament official. Please feel free to give Charlie a call and welcome him to Fair Oaks!!!!!

Court Renovations

Tennis court renovation is complete with a few small items left to be done. Our new courts and lights look great - come out to Fair Oaks and give the new courts a try!!!!!

Tennis Tip:

Serving for an Ace

A big key to having a powerful serve is your toss. The server's dominate hand is the side where the toss should be placed. If the server is right-handed he/she should toss the ball on the right side of his/her body which is where his/her effective strike zone is located.

Summer Tennis Classes

EZ-Reg online registration available for tennis classes.

Learn to play tennis!!!! We offer tennis classes for entry level beginners. If you ever wanted to learn to play tennis, this is where you begin.

Summer Session

Registration begins May 5 and 6

Classes begin: week of June 2 and July 21

Classes meet 1 hour per week (1/2 hour for tots classes) for 6 weeks.

Cost: $42 ($67 for non-residents)

Tots Classes: $21 ($42 for non-residents)

Cardio Tennis

Join in the newest fitness craze - Cardio Tennis!!!! Work on your tennis game while working out. Class begin June 2 - morning and evening classes available:

Fall ALTA Junior League

Registration currently in progress through June 30.

Fall league teams are now forming for boy and girls. Matches are play on Saturdays beginning in September. Teams will receive coaching after school during the week. All levels of play.

Round Robin Socials

Join us each for fun tennis in a relaxed atmosphere at our Round Robin Socials. Mixed doubles round robin play for all levels - everyone is invited. You do not need a partner to register. Fee is $3.00 plus a can of balls. This is a great way to keep your game sharp and make new friends.

Head Pro Peter Townes is running the

Fair Oaks Tennis Academy 's After School Program this Fall and Winter. Students of all levels are encouraged to participate. More advanced students may choose the Monday – Thursday clinics from 5:00pm to 7:00pm or Tuesdays and Thursdays clinics from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Students will work on conditioning, mental toughness, stroke production and winning strategies to fit each student's game. For recreational students, there are clinics on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.They will learn all the basic skills that will allow them to be competitive in ALTA team play. Beginning students ages 4 - 7 may attend clinics on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00pm to 5:30pm. These players will learn the basics of how to hit ground strokes, serves and volleys.
