Hunting Information

 

Cobb County's Corps Property allows bow hunting for deer during hunting season. Permits are awarded by lottery draw. To submit an application for the draw, send your name, address, valid email address, and phone number(s) to Cobb County Parks , Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department at 1792 County Services Parkway, Marietta, GA 30008, Attn: John Purcell. Deadline for application is July 18, 2008.

Corps Property Hunting Regulations

 

  1. Hunters must have a Cobb County hunting permit and a current Georgia Big Game hunting license in their possession at all times while hunting on Cobb County property.

  2. Hunters under the age of 16 must be accompanied and closely supervised by a responsible adult.
  3. No hunting beyond areas designated by “No Hunting” signs.
  4. Vehicles must be operated on existing roads.
  5. Target practice is prohibited.
  6. Trapping is prohibited.
  7. Permanent tree stands are prohibited.
  8. Corps of Engineers'/Cobb County property lines are marked by two red stripes on trees facing the property line. Permission to cross private property to reach Corps of Engineers' property can only be granted by the property owner.
  9. Crossbow use on Cobb County property at Allatoona Lake must follow all applicable state and local regulations.
  10. Field dressing is prohibited on the property.
  11. Hunting allowed sunrise until 10:00am in September, October, and January.   Sunrise until sunset in November and December.
  12. Hunters must check in/out at station.
